1st Southeast Asian Coffee Education Congress

Plenary Session

Speakers will discuss the scientific revolution on coffee and its relation to sustainability, profitability and resiliency and creating sustainable, thriving and resilient rural communities. Speakers from the coffee-producing countries in Southeast Asia are also invited to talk on the status of the coffee industry in their countries alongside the various research, development and extension activities and outcomes.

Coffee Cupping Training

Coffee cupping training will be held to enhance the cupping skills of the participants. Only twenty-five (25) participants will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.

Skills Demonstration

World-renown chef, barista and artist will demonstrate coffee-based cooking, barista skills, latte arts as well as coffee painting and coffee arts.

Research and Extension Paper Presentation

Research and extension initiatives on coffee conducted in Southeast Asia will be presented by researchers and others stakeholders from higher education institutions, both public and private colleges and universities, and other government or private research institutions.

Call for Paper and Poster Presentation

Trade Fair and Exhibit

A trade fair and exhibit will be held to showcase various coffee; and coffee-based products, equipment, services and arts from various government agencies, non-government organizations and business sectors.

    1st National Coffee Education Congress

    This event brought together the Philippines’ key coffee players from the academe, research and development institutions, government agencies and private companies and discussed the issues, challenges, and opportunities of the coffee sector.

  • Philippine Coffee Network

    (PhilCoffeeNet)

    A network of 34-member State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) who are actively working for the development of the Philippine coffee industry through the conduct of innovative researches and extension activities. Established on November 9, 2017, the network aims to link all the member SUCs to research funding agencies such as the Commission on Higher Education, Department of Science and Technology, Bureau of Agricultural Research and other international funding agencies to harmonize the coffee research, development and extension activities of the country.

  • Philippine Coffee Journal

    (PhilCoffeeJournal)

    A first of its kind, the Philippine Coffee Journal is a compilation of scientific papers that focuses on the results and outcomes of research, development and extension (RDE) activities on coffee conducted by different higher education institutions and other government RDE institutions. It aims to revitalize the Philippine coffee industry through knowledge generation and transfer of technology to the community to recognize efforts in the development and promotion of the coffee industry through information dissemination and publication.

MECHANICS OF REGISTRATION

How to Register

Registration of interested participants is done online by completing the form provided in the SEACEC Registration Portal. Interested participants are advised to register early to ensure availability of slots. Registration will be closed on September 27, 2018.

Registration Fees

Registration fee for local participants | PhP 7,000
Registration fee for international participants | USD 160

Registration fee includes full access to workshops and sessions, congress' kit and AM and PM snacks and lunch for four days.

Cancellation

Cancellations are accepted until September 14, 2018, subject to a computed administration fee. Unfortunately, no refunds are possible after this date.

Optional Day Tour

After the Congress, you may join the day tour by paying PHP 2,000.00/head. You may send an email regarding the tour to seacec@cvsu.edu.ph

Local participants may pay their registration fees thru bank transfer or you may also pay on-site. For local participants who will use bank transfer as payment method, please take note of the following details:
